“This is the front line of sustainability - and it's not what many people think”

Cândido Veloso, After Sales Technical Director at Somengil, is at the forefront of sustainability - even if it means managing operations thousands of kilometres away. In this interview, he shows how the latest data analysis, IoT and AI technologies are making a difference.

What is the main challenge facing the companies you work with?

Reactive maintenance is one of the main challenges. It's a huge problem that can lead to unplanned downtime, lost productivity, increased costs and even affect the quality of the end product.

How can Somengil help deal with this challenge?

Naturally, this is one of our priorities. Every day we use our tools to interact with and improve the manager's experience. We are at the forefront when it comes to processing data to help companies be more efficient and sustainable.

For example, we can obtain information in real time, including user feedback, washing efficiency and MultiWasher effectiveness. This has revolutionized the dynamics of continuous improvement of our equipment.

What's more, we're able to tailor the MultiWasher and accessories to each client's needs, as each company has unique requirements.

What advice would you give to anyone who runs a company and is currently dealing with this problem?

These technologies, including IoT and AI, are fundamental, but they are no substitute for support and training. You need a team prepared to anticipate problems and increase efficiency - something we are totally focused on. Above all, we work hand in hand with our clients to make the most of their resources.
